F.A.Q. (frequently asked questions)

The reason for the race?
To have fun. It's also a fundraiser for the Mapleton Parkway Running Trail that will go from near Hobblecreek Canyon through Mapleton city to Spanish Fork Canyon.
Where does the race start and stop?
Jolley's Ranch, at the right fork of Hobblecreek Canyon is the proposed starting point. The finish line is at Ira Allen Park in Mapleton.
What are the start times?
See the pace sheet - click here
Where do we pick up our packet?
Ira Allen Park, 1700 S. 800 W., Mapleton, Thursday, August 11th from 6-8pm and Friday, August 12th 6-9pm before the race. Photo ID is required to pick up your packet.

Are there awards?
Yes!
• 1st - 4th place trophies for those finishing soonest after midnight
• Best costume (1st - 4th place)
• There will be a medal for every finisher of the race
Are lighting devices required?
Yes, definitely! There will be some lighting device included in your packet but a head lamp is recommended. It is a full moon but the canyon will be dark and if we have a cloud cover the entire route will be dark. Additional lighting devices will be available for purchase at the packet pickup. Anyone not wearing highly reflective material, lighting devices, a reflective vest or without their bib number on will be asked to leave the race for safety reasons.
Timing devices?
There will be a clock at the starting line and at the finish line. We ask that no timing devices be used during the race. The idea is to pace yourself so you finish at midnight.
How many aid stations?
There will be at least 3 aid stations with restrooms, locations to be announced.
Will there be race numbers and timing chips?
Yes, the race bibs will be included in your packet, there will be no timing chips.
If I get injured or for any reason can’t run after I have registered, can I have my money refunded?
No, however, you can transfer your registration to another runner. The new runner will have to sign a new registration form and we will need their information.
Where are good places for my family to watch the race?
The starting line is great (Jolley’s Ranch), this way you can see the runners off and watch them pass Jolley’s Ranch again at mile 3. Anywhere along the course inside Mapleton city not in the canyon most will be on the trail and there is no parking. And of course at the finish line (Ira Allen Park).
Will there be a finish line party?
Yes, a big one with food and music at Ira Allen Park.
Where is Ira Allen Park?
1700 S. 800 W., Mapleton
Transportation?
Yes, there will be buses if you sign up for transportaton from Ira Allen Park to the starting line at Jolley’s Ranch. These buses leave at 8:00pm, 8:15pm, 8:30pm, 8:45pm and 9:00pm. You must sign up for a specific time. If you don't want to take the bus it works best if you have a family member drop you off at Jolley’s Ranch and then meet you at the finish line at Ira Allen Park. This is a great place for your family to watch you start the race and see you pass again at mile 3. There will be no buses going back to Jolley’s Ranch after the race.
Can I volunteer?

Will this continue to be an annual event?
Yes.
